CZ was founded back in1936 as Česká zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod, CZ established a branch plant of Česká zbrojovka Strakonice. CZ began producing both military and civilian armaments, one of the first products we created was aircraft machine guns, military pistols and small bore rifles.

CZ set up shop in the United States in 1998 under CZ-USA for American sales. The US branch is located in Kansas City, KS and is the exclusive importer from Česká zbrojovka a.s. Uherský Brod, (CZUB) of the Czech Republic. CZ-USA is an importer, manufacturer, and distributor of the CZ handguns, CZ shotguns, CZ rifles, and CZ conversion kits. CZ company also carries lines of high quality 1911 and revolvers from their Dan Wesson line.
